Since 1876 this business has been constantly sourcing and selling the finest tuna from around the globe. It purchases tinned and processed tuna directly from the factory while ensuring the lowest prices and the highest yields possible. The business purchases its tuna from a number of worldwide canning and processing plants, with whom it has long standing commercial relationships.
The business handles all of the logistics from global shipments to the point of delivery. The goods are landed in the UK and stored in a warehouse in the North West of England. From there the goods are shipped to the customers premises.
Most clients purchase Pouch Packs produced in 3kg or 7kg weights. The canned Tuna is in either 1.8kg or 3 kg size, both of which provide maximum product yield.
The business prides itself on the finest quality and high yield of its products.The business can procure tuna caught with pole and line, purse seiner with or without Fish Aggregating Devices (FAD). They are very aware of the pressure from retailers to provide sustainably caught tuna.
All of their sold tuna is Dolphin friendly and fully BRC certified with full traceability back to the fishing vessel and even the area in which it was caught.
The company operates as a broker and middleman. It purchases the tuna, brings it into the country, warehouses (via an independent logistics operator) and then sells and arranges shipment to the end client. As a consequence the company has no employees and minimal overheads.
The customers are in food service, food retail and food processing businesses.
